June D. (McGlashan) Harper, the daughter of Harold Scott and Esther Lanova (Day) McGlashan, was born April 3, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended Short Ridge High School in Indianapolis.

 

On April 16, 1948, June was united in marriage to Leland Floyd Harper.. Leland passed away in 1957, following a construction accident in Page, Arizona.

 

June worked as a waitress, optician and receptionist. She was also a Hospice Volunteer while living in Tucson, Arizona.

 

In January of 2004, June moved to Rock Port with her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Rodney. She has been an active member of the First Christian Church and the Rock Port Chapter # 440 Order of The Eastern Star. June passed away at her home in Rock Port on December 10, 2007 at the age of 78 years.

 

June is survived by daughter Elaine Hopper and her husband Rodney of the home; son Stephen Harper and his wife Judi, Chula Vista, California; sister Ronny Ruch and her husband Butch, Porterville, California; four granddaughters, Symantha, Kelsi, Eunice and Jessica; two grandsons Aaron and Luis; five great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

 

Besides her parents and husband, June is preceded in death by two children, Diana Lynn Harper and Mark Anthony Harper; and two brothers Milo McGlashan and Buck McGlashan.

 

Services: Friday, Decemer 14, 2007, 1:00 pm. at the First Christian Church, Rock Port.
Inurnment will be held at a later date,
Oklandon Cemetery, Oklandon, Indiana.
There is no visitation.

Memorials: The First Christian Church, Rock Port or Kendallwood Hospice, St. Joseph, Missouri.
