Karen Arcoseba Lester, the daughter of John and Julie (Arcoseba) Lester, was born on September 10, 1990 in Los Gatos, California. Karen attended Ridgefield, Washington Schools and graduated from Tarkio High School in 2009. She attended college at Missouri Western University, St. Joseph, Missouri and Park University, Parkville, Missouri.

Because of Karen’s many illnesses, she was not able to work regularly, however she had been employed as a nurse’s aide at John Knox Village, Lee Summit, Missouri. She especially enjoyed volunteering at the Tarkio Nutrition Center, Tarkio, and Camp Quality Greater Kansas City, Lee Summit, for terminally ill children. Karen and Julie would purchase clothes, toys, electronics, and shoes to mail to the Philippines for the many children in need. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tarkio and was also a leader for a Catholic Group on the Missouri Western University campus. Karen passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 29.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandfather, Redento Mercolita, grandmother, Sharon Hines; aunt, Kay Baucom. Survivors include her parents, John and Julie (Arcoseba) Lester, Tarkio; grandparents, Paul and Karen Lester, Tarkio, grandmother, Pacencia Arcoseba, Cadano, Philippines and grandfather, Bill Hines, Tarkio; Uncles, Ronnie (Trudy) Baker, Fairfax, Missouri, Duane (Sarah) Lester, Tarkio, Matthew (Alyssa) Lester, Washington, DC; numerous cousins.

Private Family Graveside Service: Friday, May 8, 2020 at Home Cemetery, Tarkio.

There is no visitation.

Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
