Charles Kenneth “Ken” Wallace, the son of Charles and Marciline (Hicks) Wallace, was born January 14, 1939 in Newark, Ohio. Ken attended and graduated from West Mifflin High School, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University for two years. Ken entered the United States Army and served his country for two years. After receiving his honorable discharge, he entered the United States Navy and served for two years. Following his military service, Ken was employed for 30 years by the United States Government in Logistics. He also owned and operated a “Caveman Coffee” mobile trailer where he served breakfast and coffee at local events around Atchison County, Missouri. Ken owned and operated a vending machine company in Colorado.

 

On September 7, 1985, Ken was united in marriage to Betty Hicks, and Ken became step-father to Betty’s three children, Kathy, Lorie, and Jeffrey. They made their home in Tarkio, Missouri until the present time.

 

Ken was a member of the First Christian Church, Tarkio and Fairfax Masonic Lodge #483, Fairfax, Missouri. He enjoyed writing novels and had published 10 books. Ken passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, at the age of 82.

 

Besides his parents, Ken was preceded in death by four grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Betty Wallace, Tarkio; children, Kathy (James) Elder, Tarkio, Lorie Gardner, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Jeffrey Templeton, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; sister, Kathy Tusai; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial Service: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 21, 2021, First Christian Church, Tarkio.

Family Visitation: 9:00-10:00 A.M., Thursday, prior to the service, First Christian Church, Tarkio.

Inurnment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, Tarkio.

Arrangements: Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
