Kent M. Clark, the son of Lona Ray and Louella Mabel (Sloan) Clark, was born July 22, 1939, in Tarkio, Missouri. He attended Tarkio High School, graduating in 1957. Kent also attended one and a half years of college at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, Missouri, and one and a half years at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.

 

On December 9, 1966, Kent was united in marriage to Karen Smith at the Tarkio Assembly of God Church. They made their home in the Tarkio area their entire married life and became the parents of two sons, Kevin Ray and Kurtis William.

 

Kent farmed and trucked for 13 years and then was employed by Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah, Iowa, for 28 years until retirement. He was a very active member of the Tarkio First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, financial secretary, on the corporate board, the pastor search committee and a Sunday school teacher. He and Karen served on a Lay Renewal Team for several years. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and loved working on old Farmall tractors. Kent passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 76.

 

Besides his parents, Kent was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Alice Clark and Shirley Louella Carlisle and brother, Kim Douglas Clark. Survivors include his wife, Karen, Tarkio; sons, Kevin Clark and wife, Twilla, and their daughter, Lauren, and Kurtis Clark and wife, Lori, all of Tarkio; brothers, Philip Clark and wife, Roberta, Tarkio, and William Ray Clark and wife, Anna, Belton, Missouri; sister-in-law, Judy Clark, Tarkio; brother-in-law, Howard Andrew Carlisle, Tarkio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Monday, October 12, at Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
