So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. The community is going to miss his countless contributions. I have so many memories of Jim from my younger years when I was back home from college in the summers. The Jeep rides he was a part of were legendary and I remember them fondly. It was nice to recently catch up again and I greatly appreciated his efforts is helping us find a place to live in RP while we transitioned back to to RP from KC. I will always be grateful and I will miss him along with an entire community. Prayers to the family and kids.

So very saddened by the news of Jim's passing. Jim always made time to sit and talk with me after my dad passed away and he will always hold a place in my heart after he so graciously performed the folding of the flag during the service. I enjoyed Jim's conversation so much every time I went into American Family insurance that when he retired, I changed insurance! Thank you so much Mr. Lewis, for your service and your sacrifice. You will be missed by many in this county and God bless you and your family.

Myself and my wife lost a truly great friend in Jim,s passing. He was a caring person who was always there when you needed him. We have known Jim since 1966 when he went into the Army and was assigned to my platoon at Fort Bragg. We went together to Vietnam for 1 year and I knew he always had my back under any situation. We both left Vietnam on the same airplane. Jim was discharged and I stayed in. He always stayed in contact with me since that time. We all lost a wonderful man and Chris a great husband.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Chris and the Lewis Family. After hearing of Jim’s passing I thought about his impact on the community and myself as well. Jim contributed to the betterment of Rock Port in so many ways. As a businessman, church leader, and volunteer for many organizations, he represented assistance to the basic needs in which citizens depend on a level of guidance and trust. Jim represented that in not only his words, but by the way he lived his life. Personally, Jim reminded me of someone I admired in my youth; John Wayne. A bigger than life man that chose his words, thought about his actions, and made it feel that the time he shared with you mattered to him. I enjoyed the limited conversations I had with him. I wish there would have been more. We live in a time that makes it easy to question the values, integrity, and character of our “neighbor. Jim Lewis probably never realized the impact he had on this community. I hope so many others that were influenced by his life, live theirs with a renewed sense of purpose. I know I will. God Bless, Chris Chamberlain
