Larry L. Brown
1946-2015
Forsyth, Missouri

 

Larry L. Brown, the son of Loren and Edwyna (Graham) Brown was born July 15, 1946 in Maryville, Missouri. Larry graduated from Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri in 1964. He immediately entered the United States Marine Corps and served his country for six years during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge Larry returned to Tarkio and was employed by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff.

 

On January 29, 1982, Larry was united in marriage to Diana Moulder in Rock Port, Missouri, and they became the parents of one son, Matt. They later divorced.

 

Larry then became employed as an over the road truck driver, traveling through all 48 states and Canada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with friends, as well as golfing, shooting and watching John Wayne westerns. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tarkio, the Moila Temple Shrine, Saint Joseph, Missouri and former member of the Tarkio Masonic Lodge and Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio. Larry passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 69.

 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, son, Matt (Jaclyn) Brown, Liberty, Missouri; sister, Linda Hall, Four Seasons, Missouri; brother, Lyle (Phyllis) Brown, Rock Port; niece, Stephanie (Randy) Lininger, Shawnee, Kansas; nephews, Jason Brown, Farmington, Missouri, Trent (Tabitha) Brown, Tarkio; niece, Channing (Dillon) Pike, Adrian, Missouri.

 

Funeral Service:
11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00, Tuesday, prior to the service.
Memorials: Children’s Miracle Network or Wounded Warrior Project.
