Larry Lee Sturtz, the son of Lenard and Wilma (Asbury) Sturtz, was born September 23, 1940, in Newhall, Iowa. He moved to Tarkio, Missouri, when he was five and attended Tarkio schools, graduating high school in 1959.

In 1961, Larry was united in marriage to Joy Harbin. They became the parents of two children. They later divorced. In 1968, he was united in marriage to Kay Watkins. They became the parents of three children. They later divorced. In 1985, Larry met his soul mate, Helen Paris. On May 23, 2003, Larry was united in marriage to Helen and they became the parents of two sons.

Larry was employed as a stocker at Hy-Vee in Tarkio, worked at MBP Excel, in Phelps City, Missouri, and welded gates at Farmaster in Shenandoah, Iowa, before starting his own trash collection business. Larry worked countless hours with Helen, operating Route Collection Services, a waste disposal collection service. He enjoyed playing pool and spending time with Helen, his children, and grandchildren. Larry passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 72.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by brother, Darrell Sturtz. Survivors include Helen, of the home, Tarkio; seven children, Tenn, Carla, Sandy, Lori, Ron, Jeremy and Nick; three step-children, Richard, Kevin and Dustin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Pat Gregg, Oakland, Iowa.

Memorial Services: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 9, 2013, First Baptist Church, Tarkio, Missouri.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no visitation.
