Lee Edward Schumacher, the son of Edward B. and Grace Ekke (Rosenbohm) Schumacher, was born August 22, 1921, in Langdon, Missouri. He attended school at Valley View and Nisha Country Schools, graduating from Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri.
Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army, in the European Theater during World War II. On March 2, 1947, Lee was united in marriage to Emma Jean Morgan at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. They became the parents of two children, Alan Lynn and Kathryn Kay.
Lee and Emma Jean farmed and made their home on the family farm in the Langdon area until moving into Rock Port in 1992. Lee retired from farming in 1986. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. Emma Jean passed away February 1, 2009. Lee passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 91.
Besides his parents and wife Emma Jean, Lee was preceded in death by his son, Alan Lynn Schumacher. Survivors include daughter, Kay Amthor and husband, Wally; grandson, Wyatt Amthor and wife, Kari Beth, all of Rock Port; granddaughter, Jessica Kytle and husband, Brian, Tomball, Texas; great-grandchildren, Westyn and Talyn Amthor, Rock Port; and step grandson, Logan Kytle, Tomball.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 15, 2013, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
