Leo D. Armstrong

1945-2018

Rock Port, Missouri

 

Leo D. Armstrong, the son of John F. and Vera Mae (Thompson) Armstrong, was born October 2, 1945, in Watson, Missouri.  He attended Watson High School, graduating in 1963.

 

In March of 1964, Leo was united in marriage to Linda Webster.  They became the parents of one daughter, Julie, and made their home in St. Louis, Missouri, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Independence, Missouri, Watson, Missouri, and in Rock Port, Missouri, where he lived to the present time. While living in Independence, Leo was a welder and worked in numerous industries.  After moving back to Rock Port, Missouri, Leo was employed at Auburn Consolidated Industries in Auburn, Nebraska.

 

Leo was a member of the Watson Baptist Church.  Linda passed away October 21, 2016.  Leo passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at an Omaha, Nebraska, hospital at the age of 72.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Linda, Leo was preceded in death by siblings, Gerald and Kenneth Armstrong and John Armstrong, Jr.  Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Kevin Shallenberger, Gretna, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Addison, Macie and Camden; siblings, Jim (Barbara) Armstrong, Hamburg, Iowa, Lylith Gardner, Omaha, Nebraska, Gary Armstrong, Rock Port, and Hollis (Chris) Holmes, Watson; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Armstrong, Stillwater, Minnesota, and Deeann Armstrong, Clarinda, Iowa.

 

Graveside Service and Interment:  11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 24, High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Monday, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 P.M.
