Leora Glee Thomas, the daughter of Thomas and Nella (Rhoten) Love, was born February 13, 1909 in Randolph, Iowa. Glee lived in southwest Iowa until moving to Watson, Missouri in 1921. She attended Pleasant Valley Country School and Watson Missouri schools.

In 1925, Glee was united in marriage to Homer Thomas at the Rock Port Methodist Episcopal Church, by Resident Pastor C. F. Jenkins. They made their home southeast of Rock Port where they farmed for more than 38 years, retiring in 1974. They moved to a home near the Rock Port water tower in 1984. Homer passed away in 1986. Glee passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port at the age of 99 years.

Glee had been a member of the Watson Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1924.

Besides her parents and husband Homer, Glee was preceded in death by one son, Dorwin Thomas; great-grandson James Reed Thomas; two brothers, John Love and Harold “Doc” Love; three sisters, Edith Michie, Ruby Frederick and Mary Love. Survivors include grandsons, Jerry Thomas and his wife Betsy, Rock Port; Jeff Thomas and his wife Jeannie Hamburg, Iowa; daughter-in-law, June Thomas, Hamburg, brother-in-law, Louis Fredrick, Des Moines, Iowa; 11 great-grandchildren, Mindy Walker and husband Bill, Kerry Thomas and wife Robin, Clint Thomas and wife Holli, Amy Reynolds, Anne Reynolds, Lora Burki and husband Chris, Julie Thomas, Beth Chatfield and husband Michael, Lacey Thomas, Dani Thomas, Jennifer Zink; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Will and Ben Walker, Hannah and Carter Thomas, Lestat Chatfield, Emilie Burki, Kylee Thomas, and Samantha, Kayle and Breezy; one great-great-great-granddaughter, Savannah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
