Linda Kay Erickson
April 30, 1953 - October 9, 2024
Linda Kay Erickson, the daughter of Vernon M. and Virginia M. (Kirk) Thomas, was born April 30, 1953, in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1971. Linda then attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business and secondary education in 1980.
In 1971, Linda was united in marriage to RD Steele, and they became the parents of one daughter, Rochelle. They later divorced. On July 16, 1994, Linda was united in marriage to Tom Erickson at the Atchison County Memorial Building, Rock Port. They made their home in Coin, Iowa until returning to Rock Port in 2019.
Linda was employed as General Manager and Accountant by her parents at J&M Restaurant and Lounge, Rock Port. She was later employed by the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff, and a substitute teacher. Linda was later employed as an Accountant by the Fairfax Implement Company, Fairfax, Missouri, and MasterGuard Heat and Smoke Detectors in St. Joseph, Missouri. She retired as a Controller for Featherlite Trailor Manufacturing, Shenandoah, Iowa.
Linda enjoyed raising cattle with Tom and named every animal. She enjoyed bowling and crafts. Linda passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at her home in Rock Port, at the age of 71.
Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Max Lee Thomas; father and mother-in-law, Paul (Vivian) Erickson. Survivors include husband, Tom Erickson, Rock Port; children, Rochelle (David) Henagan, Rock Port and Keith Erickson, Texas; grandchildren, Drake (Kimberly) Daugherty, Ashlynn (Andrew) Lingerfelt, Tristian Henagan, all of Rock Port, and Zoe Henagan, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Briar, Blaykleigh, Ivy, and Luxtyn Daugherty, Autumn Lingerfelt, and Everly Henagan; sister, Pam Harris, Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Darlene (Jerry) Isaacs, Camdenton, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 14, 2024, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Monday, prior to the service. There is no open visitation.
Inurnment: Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
Memorials: Rock Port Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
