Lou Ella Davis, the daughter of Dolphus Criss and Vivian Alice (Neal) Miller, was born on July 18, 1925, in Fairfax, Missouri. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1943.

 

On November 11, 1945, Lou was united in marriage to Donald Reid Davis in the Hiawatha, Kansas, Methodist Parsonage. To this marriage were born two children, Sue and Jim. They made their home in Fairfax, Westboro and Tarkio, Missouri; Nebraska City, Nebraska; and Marienthal, Kansas. They returned to Tarkio in 1988 to retire.

 

Lou worked in the dime store in Fairfax before she was married, and became a homemaker after her marriage to Donald. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tarkio. Donald passed away in 2008. Lou passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care in Tarkio at the age of 85.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Lou was preceded in death by 2 brothers, David and Max Miller; 3 sisters, Fay Miller, Colleen Wright and Nellie Campbell. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Davis, Tarkio; son, Jim Davis, New York City, NY; granddaughters, Katy (Justin) Moore, Fayetteville, AR, Elizabeth (Steve) Powers, Springdale, AR; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Garrett and Lexi Powers, and Austin and Olivia Moore; sisters-in-law, Irene Mather, Eldorado, California, and Francil Davis, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
There is no visitation.
