Louise Herron, the daughter of William Henry and Bertha Caroline (Spiegle) Staashelm, was born on March 17, 1932 in Tarkio, Missouri. Louise attended school in Tarkio, Tarkio Royal Country and Opp Country Schools, before graduating from Rock Port High School in 1951. Louise was employed by Chamberlain Wedding Chapel in Rock Port preparing flower arrangements while Willard was in the service. As a homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of her flowers, feeding and watching the birds and crocheting. She also loved traveling with Willard and Katie Beth, their beloved dog.
On March 20, 1955, Louise was united in marriage to Willard Keith Herron at Chamberlain’s Wedding Chapel in Rock Port. They made their home on their farm north of Rock Port their entire married life. Willard passed away on December 5, 2007. In 2008, ill health forced Louise’s move to Pleasant View Nursing Home where she passed away October 17, 2011, at the age of 79.
Louise was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Rock Port, and the Women’s Circle. She was a former member of the Centennial Club, Lone Cedar Club and served as Cemetery Sexton for Grange Hall Cemetery for numerous years.
Besides her parents and husband, Willard, Louise was preceded in death by niece, Patty Wilkinson. Survivors include, brother, William Otto Staashelm and wife, Darlene; brothers-in-law, Marvin Herron and wife, Karen and Gene Herron and wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Dollie Herron; nieces, Valerie Duncan and husband, Bruce; Thea Knox and husband, David; Melissa Smith and husband, Aaron; nephew, Kevin Herron; great nieces and nephews, Talya Culbertson and husband, Sean, Eric Duncan, Danielle Rodabough, Karen Knox and David Knox.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2011, First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.
Interment: Grange Hall Cemetery, Rock Port.
Visitation: There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation will begin Wednesday, October, 19, 2011 at 9:00 AM at Minter Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, or First Lutheran Church.
