Isa Louise Yates, the daughter of James Arthur and Ethel Mae (Jetton) Smith, was born March 15, 1920, in Richland, Kansas. Her family frequently moved, so she attended numerous schools, graduating from Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri.

On September 17, 2000, Louise was united in marriage to Rev. William O. “Jack” Yates. They made their home in Tarkio, Missouri. Jack passed away September 27, 2008.

Louise was employed by F.W. Woolworth’s as a clerk and office manager, for W.T. Grant and Kmart as a department manager, all of Kansas City, retiring in 1982.

Louise was a member of the Burlington Junction Christian Church in Burlington Junction, Missouri. Louise passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 95.

Besides her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by son, Gerald Jorden. Survivors include son, James Jorden and wife, Sonya, Kansas City; daughter, Jennifer Cancel, Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Private Family Inurnment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mound City, Missouri.
There is no visitation.
