1927-2012
Tarkio, Missouri

 

Lucille V. “Red” Hodge, the daughter of Orville Andrew and Ida Belle (Hopkins) Wallace was born March 25, 1927, in Maryville, Missouri. She attended Homer Country School, west of Tarkio, Missouri, and Maryville Public Schools, thru the eighth grade.

 

On December 18, 1952, Lucille was united in marriage to Frank Hodge, by Judge Jack Savage at his home in Rock Port, Missouri. They made their home in Tarkio their entire married life.

 

Lucille was a stay at home mom, where she raised her family with love and compassion. Her sudden passing leaves many broken hearts this Christmas season. Lucille was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tarkio. She loved to listen to country music and watch old John Wayne movies. She also enjoyed barbequing and spending time with her grandkids. Frank passed away November 28, 1989. Lucille passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, on the day of her and Frank’s 60th Wedding Anniversary, at the Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 85.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Frank, Lucille was preceded in death by son, Carl “Totsey” Hodge; grandchildren, Andy, Betty and James Wallace; great-granddaughter, Shana Wallace; three sisters, twin sister Louise Henderson, Ann Lane and Erma Ray; eight brothers, Harvey Hayes, Lewis Hayes, Orville “Jinks” Wallace, Barney Wallace, Eugene “Whitey” Wallace, Raymond Wallace, John Wallace and infant brother Earl Wallace. Survivors include children, Bob Wallace and wife, Royce Anne, Shenandoah, Iowa, and Steve Hodge and wife, Cheryl, and Ruth Barbosa, and husband, Javier, all of Tarkio; stepchildren, Sharlyn Chitwood and husband, Darel, Tarkio, Jim Hodge and wife, Leila, Westboro, Missouri, and Diana Wallace and husband, Andy, Fairfax; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Services: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 22, 2012, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Friday, December 21, 2012, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 P.M. that evening.
