Lyllis Ann (Chaney) Johnson, the daughter of Henry Jr. and Evelyn Lucille (Roberts) Chaney, was born on July 10, 1949 in Tarkio, Missouri. When Lyllis was five years old, the family moved to California. She returned to Tarkio while in her early teens, and attended Tarkio High School.

On May 2, 1970, Lyllis was united in marriage to Billy Joe Johnson in Rock Port and they became the proud parents of one son, Michael and one daughter, Pamela. Lyllis was employed at the Pleasant View Nursing Home and Northwest Missouri Industries, both in Rock Port, Missouri and The Korner Kitchen in Tarkio for a number of years.

Lyllis was a 30 year member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199 Auxiliary and held numerous offices. She was a member of the 8 & 40 Salon 816, Tarkio, for 19 years, and participated in Atchison County Government Day each year. She also enjoyed volunteer work in the community. Lyllis received the most enjoyment from her family and friends. She loved playing bingo, cards, spending time outdoors camping, and family get-togethers. Lyllis passed away Sunday April 5, 2009 at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 59 years.

Besides her parents, Lyllis is preceded in death by three brothers, George Chaney, Rodger Chaney and Larry Chaney and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Billy Joe Johnson, of their home in Tarkio; son, Michael Johnson and his wife, Daniella, Rock Port; daughter, Pamela Corbin and her husband, Joey, Skidmore, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; twin sister, Phyllis Sipes and her husband Larry, Forest City, Missouri; sisters, Connie Bowers and her husband, Jay, Shenandoah, Iowa, Sherry Chaney and Kevin Corbin, Blair, Nebraska, Marsha Flannagan, Fairfax, Missouri; and brother, Clifford Scott Chaney and Kema Pinzino, Tarkio.

Services: 10:00 am, Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
