Marie J. Perry, the daughter of Issac Newton and Gladys (Horsington) Moody, was born June 26, 1933, in Rock Port, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port.
On November 22, 1948, Marie was united in marriage to Ora W. Perry at the Rock Port Baptist parsonage. They became the parents of three children, Jerry, Danny and Sandra. They made their home in Rock Port their entire married life. Ora passed away July 28, 2013.
Marie was employed as a cook at Rock Port Schools, Trails End, and Pleasant View Nursing Home, all in Rock Port. In 1999, she retired from Pleasant View.
Marie enjoyed watching birds, and camping and fishing at Tuttle Creek Lake in Manhattan, Kansas. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren. Marie passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska, at the age of 85.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Lawson. Survivors include sons, Jerry Perry and wife, Louise, Rock Port, and Danny Perry and wife, Lita, Fairfax, Missouri; grandchildren, Shelley, Chris, Jason, Devon, Kade and Tayha; many great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Harmon, Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Rock Port Baptist Church.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, Minter Funeral Chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
