Marion Edward Thacker, the son of Raymond James and Glady Lois (Riley) Thacker, was born July 30, 1957, in Hiawatha, Kansas. He attended Horton, Kansas, schools.

In January of 1981, Marion was united in marriage to Mary Harlow. They became the parents of Rebecca and Laura and made their home in Ricketts, Iowa, Emporia, Kansas and Omaha, Nebraska. They later divorced.

In 2005, Marion moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he was employed at First Source, in appliance sales and repair. He was a skilled repairman who could work on anything. Marion enjoyed hunting, fishing and gold prospecting in Colorado. Marion passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 56.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Chubbic and husband, Larry, and Laura Boal and husband, Robert, all of Cambridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Katelyn, Riley and Allison Chubbic; siblings, Benny Thacker and wife, Sue, and Jimmy Thacker, all of Horton, Katie Austin, Sparta, Missouri, and Leon Thacker, Buffalo, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service and Interment: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 12, 2014, Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri.
There is no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. All events will take place Saturday at Home Cemetery.
