Jeanette was a favorite of ours on the Tarkio campus. Although she sometimes displayed the "stern air" of a librarian, underneath we all knew there was a ready wit. She did so much for the College and the Atchison County community.

My condolences to all the Huston family. Jeanette was a special person and a special friend in my 10 years as a professor at Tarkio College and a fellow member of the Presbyterian Church. I wish you all well.

I have good memories of working for Jeanette in the Tarkio library. I was sometimes flaky, wanting off at the last minute to study for a test, but she was so nice to work for. I really enjoyed her, and didn't want to disappoint her. She even gave me a bridal shower!!

My condolence to the Huston family. I worked with Miss Huston at the library during my entire time at Tarkio and still cannot go into a library and not think about her.

I am saddended to hear of the death of "Miss" Huston - that is the way I always addressed her. She was so knowledgeable and helpful to me during the time I was a student at Tarkio College. I enjoyed reading about her life - she had a full and rewarding one.

She was Aunt Jeannette to many of us who were not really her nieces and nephews. She was a great lady and we will miss her.

My condolences to Miss Huston's family. I was a student worker in the Tarkio Library when she became librarian. What an amazing difference she made in it. After graduation I stayed on one more year with the title of "Assistant Librarian." (During that year she said I could call her "Jeanette", but she was still "Miss Huston" to me.)As a result of her teaching and example, I eventually pursued a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science and a career in that field. I think of her often.
