Martin R. “Marty” Addington, the son of Dovel Richard and Barbara Lee (Voltmer) Addington, was born August 30, 1949 in Hamburg, Iowa. Marty attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1967. He then attended University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, for one year before entering into the United States Air Force.  Marty served for 22 years starting as enlisted and raising to the rank of Captain.

On January 30, 1972, Marty was united in marriage to Pongson (Sunny) Yi and became the parents of one daughter, Lora Lee. They later divorced.

Marty enjoyed golfing and upon retirement from USAF, he earned a PGA pro card and qualified and played in PGA Senior tournaments. In his life he enjoyed fishing, John Wayne movies and family get togethers. Marty passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 71.

Besides his parents, Marty was preceded in death by infant brother, Dovel R. Addington, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Lora (Bruce Stockwell) Campbell, Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Hannah Campbell, Virginia Beach, Carter and Garret Stockwell; sister, Nancy (Scott) Boyer, Overland Park, Kansas; numerous cousins.

Private Family Inurnment: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 15, 2021, High Creek Cemetery, Rock Port.

Celebration of Marty’s life will be held in the west shelter house at Rock Port City Park where the family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M.-2:00 P.M.
