Mary A. Murr

1949-2018

Corning, Missouri

 

Mary Ann (Lamaak) Murr, the daughter of Hans and Alma (Koster) Lamaak was born April 17, 1949 in Denison, Iowa.  She attended Denison, Iowa schools.  In September of 1966, Mary was united in marriage to Jerry Murr in a Lutheran Church in Odebolte, Iowa.  They became the parents of three children; Tracy, Tripp and Scott. They made their home in Rock Port, Missouri until 1972, when they moved to Corning, Missouri, where they lived to the present time.

 

For several years, Mary was employed at the Shop & Hop located at Exit 99 in Corning, Missouri.  Mary was an avid gardener, where she and Jerry would raise many vegetables, pumpkins and gourds.  Mary was an excellent seamstress, sewing her own clothing and Barbie clothes. She also enjoyed fishing, garage sales, canning vegetables and playing Canasta with her grandchildren. Mary had an extensive doll collection spanning from childhood to date along with a collection of Campbell’s Soup memorabilia.  Mary passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri at the age of 69.

 

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by grandson, Kayenne Hall; sisters, Janis Malone, Norma Jean DeMey, Bernetta Lamaak; brothers, Philip, Norman and Kenny Lamaak. Survivors include Jerry, her husband of Corning; children, Tracy Hall, Tarkio, Missouri, Tripp (Treva) Murr, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott (Alicia) Murr, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Summer Hall, Rock Port, Veronica Holecek, Tarkio,  Timbre Howell, Rock Port, Laura (Joe) Ortega, San Antonio, Texas,  Christi (Clint) Miller, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Emily Murr, Tulsa; nine great grandchildren and brother, Lloyd Lamaak, Colorado.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2018, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Interment:  Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port

Open visitation begins 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 7, Minter Funeral Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:50 A.M., Friday, prior to the service.
