Mary Myrlene Kellison, the daughter of Oscar Myrl and Mary Ann (Osborn) Hixson, was born October 18, 1941, in Tarkio, Missouri. Mary attended Shenandoah High School, Shenandoah, Iowa, graduating in 1959.

 

On April 15, 1961, Mary was united in marriage to Arthur Dale “A.D.” Madron in Shenandoah. They made their home in the Atchison County area and became the parents of three children: Anthony, Derrick, and Angela. A.D. passed away in 1971.

 

Mary worked numerous jobs including being a cook at Westboro and Tarkio, Missouri schools and Key Industries, in Hermitage, Missouri, as a seamstress sewing jeans and denim coats. She then was employed by Nebraska Public Power District at Cooper Nuclear Station where she was a secretary in training records, retiring in the early 2000s.

 

Mary enjoyed bowling in the Wednesday night women’s league at the bowling alley in Rock Port, Missouri. She loved watching pro sports, especially Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Blues hockey. Mary always attended her grandchildren’s local sporting events and spending time with her family. Mary passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 79.

 

Besides her parents and husband, A.D. Madron, Mary was preceded in death by son, Tony Madron; great granddaughter, Kolbie Nelson; siblings, Donald Hixson, Leonard Osborn, and Josephine Elliot. Survivors include children, Derrick (Kelley) Madron, Tarkio, and Angie (Ken) Caples, Brownville, Nebraska; grandchildren, Aaron, Danielle, Keith, Mitchell, Paige, and Kristopher; great grandchildren, Zoe, Easton, M.J., Angel, Brinley, and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A private graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Friday, October 22, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio where the family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M.- 7:30 P.M.
