Maudie M. Farley
August 7, 1931 - February 15, 2010
Maudie M. (Breazile) Farley, the daughter of Thomas William and Hada M. (Hogue) Breazile, was born August 7, 1931 in Tarkio, Missouri. She attended Tarkio public schools, graduating with the Tarkio High School class of 1949. After graduation, Maudie attended Kaster Beauty School in St. Joseph, Missouri where she earned a cosmetology diploma.
On July 26, 1953, Maudie was united in marriage to Harold Joseph (Midge) Farley in St. Joseph, where the couple resided until 1958. Maudie was baptized and confirmed into the First Evangelical and Reformed Church of St. Joseph in 1957. They returned to Tarkio, where they raised their family and lived the remainder of their married life. Maudie and Midge would share 50 years of marriage. Midge passed away in 2003. Maudie passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 78 years.
Maudie worked as a beautician in her home, and maintained her license to the present time. She was also a Certified Medical Technician and worked for many years at the nursing homes in both Tarkio and Rock Port, Missouri. She was employed for a short time at Manley Popcorn in Tarkio.
Maudie coached the Special Olympics in bowling, track and basketball. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and served as a Den Leader for the local Cub Scout Pack. Her greatest enjoyment came from her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Besides her parents, Maudie was preceded in death by her husband, Midge; two sisters, Betty Hunley and Viola Leek; and a brother, Jack Breazile. She is survived by five children, Farliegh Joe Farley and his wife, Carol, Woodbine, Iowa, Cheryl Volker and her husband, Bud, Tarkio, Barney Farley and his wife, Marty, Tarkio, Janet Morton and her husband, Cal, Fairfax, Missouri and Mary Kay Ryan and her husband, David, Tarkio; grandchildren, Brice and Briana Farley, Cathy and Wyatt Farley, Denton Joseph (DJ) and Dillon Martin, Crystal Beck and Kamron Woodring, Jacob and Katie Beck and Amanda Morton; great grandchild, Payton Woodring; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service:
10:30 am, Friday, February 19, 2010 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
