Due to continued COVID-19 concerns, the memorial service that was scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2020, has been postponed. A notice will be published when the service has been rescheduled. Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

 

Maxine Eddy Murray, the daughter of Albert Charles and Maude Emaline (Singleton) Hall, was born August 23, 1925, in Ava, Missouri.  Maxine graduated from Fairfax High School, Fairfax, Missouri in 1943 and attended Platt – Gard Business University, St. Joseph, Missouri for two years.  Upon graduation, Maxine was employed at the Exchange Bank of Fairfax until 1948.

 

On May 18, 1948, Maxine was united in marriage to Charles Eddy.  They resided in Rock Port, Missouri and Maxine began working at Citizen’s Bank & Trust, Rock Port, Missouri until retiring in November of 1989.   Early in the 1950’s, Maxine and Charles purchased a Dairy Sweet franchise, owning and operating their business in Rock Port until the 1970’s.  Charles passed away on July 1, 1986.  On November 25, 1989, Maxine was united in marriage to Morrell Murray and moved to San Antonio, Texas.  They later resided in Springfield, Missouri. Morrell passed away in March of 2015. Maxine passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Community Hospital – Fairfax at the age of 94.

 

Maxine was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was District Deputy Grand Matron for the State of Missouri from 1981-82.  She loved to play bridge and belonged to several bridge groups.

 

Besides her parents and husbands, Charles and Morrell, Maxine was preceded in death by her sisters, Alberta (Wes) Smith and Oma (Gerald) Hawkins; brothers, Harold (Barbee) Hall, John Hall and Sterling Hall; grandchildren, Hawley Owens and Thaddeus Owens; nephews, Scott Hawkins and Jim Smith.  Survivors include her son, Alan Charles Eddy and wife, Mari, Shenandoah, Iowa; step-children, Deanna (George) Owens, Gerald (Jeannie) Murray; grandchildren, Zach Owens, Ashley Sandusky and Logan Murray; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joan Hall and Marge Hall; nieces, Rita Knierim, Lisa Hall Smith, Krista Burge, Susie Abbott, Sallie Crowl, Sandy Holoubek, MarShyllia LaMar, Gaeleene Weathers and Kamara Johnson; nephews, Greg Hall, Gary Hawkins, Richard Hawkins, H.A. Hawkins, Jeff Smith and Kevin Hall; numerous cousins.

 

Due to the current restrictions, a memorial service will be held August 22, 2020, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Private Family Graveside Service & Interment:  Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax.

Memorials: American Heart Association or Rock Port Nutrition Center.
