Michael James Pruett, Sr., the son of John, Sr. and Katherine (Moore) Pruett was born December 8, 1952, in East St. Louis, Illinois. He attended Central Hower High School in Akron, Ohio.

On July 20, 1973, Michael was united in marriage to Rose Marie Hudson in Akron. They were married 42 wonderful years. They became the parents of Michael James, Jr., Rusty Allen and Toni Renae.

Michael was employed as a local truck driver for ConAgra Foods in Hamburg, Iowa. He loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Michael passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 63.

Michael was preceded in death by father, John Pruett, Sr. and wife, Jenny; mother, Katherine Kovac and husband, Milton; sister, Barbara Curtis and husband, Earl; and brother, John Pruett, Jr. Survivors include wife, Rose, Rock Port; sons, Michael Pruett, Jr, Rock Port, and Rusty Pruett and wife, Cherish, Bethany, Missouri; daughter, Toni Dipietro and husband, Angelo, Wadsworth, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, Alexis Pruett, Allen Pruett, Andrew Pruett, Corina Schumann, Taylor Pruett, Makaila Pruett, Michael Pruett, Jr., McKenna Pruett, McKenzie Millican, Nevaeh Pruett, Olivia Pruett, Dylan Hackney, Desiree Hackney, Danielle Paxton, Christopher Stewart, Angela Hoskins and Lauren Dipietro; six great-grandchildren, Jayden Nottingham, Maria Hoskins, Grady Hoskins, Landon Paxton, Joslyn Young and Amelia Young; sisters, Nancy Hastings and husband, John, Marshallville, Ohio, and Gina (Joe) Blankenship, Oakdale, California; brothers, Bobby Pruett and wife, Debbie, Massilon, Ohio, Milford Scott and wife, Caroline, Walker, West Virginia, and Raymond Scott, Akron; sister-in-law, Olga Pruett, Akron; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Steve Massaro.

Memorial services and visitation will be held at a later date at the family home in Rock Port.
