Michael Thomas McMahon, the son of Gerald Stephen and Lois Lorraine (Anderson) McMahon, was born on May 4, 1965, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Mike attended Rock Port schools, and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1983. After high school, Mike was employed in farming.

On September 14, 1985, Mike was united in marriage to Tammy Sands. They lived in the Rock Port and Tarkio areas, and in July, 1986, moved to Florida. While in Florida they became the parents of seven children, Cat, Michael, Noelle, MacKenna, Adam, Alex and Dakota. Mike was a manager for Publix Grocery Store, and also worked for Yawl Mulching doing landscaping. In 2006, they returned to Maryville, Missouri, where Mike was employed by the City of Maryville. They were later divorced.

Mike returned to Rock Port in 2008 and was employed by Oswald Ag in Tarkio and then the City of Rock Port. Mike passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 45 years. Mike’s children were his passion, and he will be sorrowfully missed by all his family and friends. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg, Iowa.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Edith Anderson and Stephen and Kathleen McMahon. He is survived by his children, Cat McMahon, Michael McMahon, Noelle McMahon, MacKenna McMahon, Adam McMahon, Alex McMahon and Dakota McMahon, all of Tarkio; parents, Jerry and Lois McMahon, Rock Port; brothers, Ronnie McMahon and his wife, Marilyn, Rock Port, Danny McMahon and his wife, Barb, Webster City, Iowa, Doug McMahon and his wife, Anna Beth, Mark McMahon and his wife, Marcy; sisters, Cathy Roup and her husband, Jim, and Elaine Lewis and her husband, Mick, all of Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., April 1, 2011, Grace Church, Rock Port, Missouri.
Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Rock Port.
Family Visitation: 6:00-7:00 p.m., March 31, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
