Mildred Lucille (Moore) Lytle, the daughter of William Lloyd and Eathel Jane (Robinette) Moore, was born July 9, 1918 near Watson, Missouri. Mildred graduated from Watson High School, and from Cosmetology school in St. Joseph, Missouri.

 

On May 18, 1935, Mildred was united in marriage to Mearl A Lytle at the High Creek Baptist Church in rural Watson. They made their home near and in Rock Port, where Mildred owned and operated the Kottage Kurl Beauty Shop for 22 years. She was also employed as a nurse’s aide at Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri for many years and was a homemaker. Mildred was a member of the Baptist Church. She loved to read, quilt, play cards, travel, cook, paint in watercolors and oils and most of all enjoyed visiting with friends and being with family.

 

Mildred passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Mount Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia at the age of 91 years and six months. She had resided in Alexandria for the past three and one-half years to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

 

Besides her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Mearl, who passed away May 5, 2003; infant son; one sister, Margery Frede and her husband Joseph; one brother, Marvin Moore; niece, Rebecca Moore, sister-in-law, Betty Moore; nephew, Daniel Moore, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins of the Moore and Lytle families.

 

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Dena McKee and her husband, Richard, Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Erik Wilkins-McKee and his wife Elizabeth and their children, Cora Anne and Patrick; Stephen McKee and his wife, Georgette and their children, Joshua and Maxwell; brother, William Moore and his wife Sylvia; sister-in-law, Jean Moore; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; including Ronald Frede, James Frede, Larry Moore, Anita Robertson, Robin Shirley, Steve Moore, Vicky Sader, Merle Cook, Beverly Mikes and Elnora Marlin.

 

Services:
1:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2010, Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Open Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Friday, February 5, 2010.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the Glaucoma Foundation or the Rock Port Nutrition Site.
