Naomi (Million) Steele, the daughter of Jesse and Ruth (Hayes) Million, was born September 30, 1930 in Watson, Missouri. She attended schools in Watson.
In 1951, Naomi was married to Robert New and they were later divorced. She was united in marriage to William (Buff) Frede in 1953, and he passed away May 1959. In 1959, Naomi was married to Marion (Dynamite) Steele. They made their home in Rock Port, where Naomi lived to the present time. Dynamite passed away July 1982.
In her younger years, Naomi worked at the Hamburg Hospital as a nurse’s assistant, but spent the majority of her life as a child care provider, helping care for numerous children in the area. These children returned often to spend time with heir “grandma Roni”. Naomi loved children, animals, reading, gardening and most of all sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends. She was a member of the Rock Port Baptist Church. Naomi passed away November 12, 2008 at the Northview Manor Care Center in Tarkio, Missouri at the age of 78 years.
Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Wm.Jesse and Ruth (Hayes) Million, two brothers, Martin Million and Ross Million; two sisters, Adeline Irvin and Jessie Million and two brothers-in-law, Mert Irvin and Robert Baldwin.
Naomi is survived by her daughters, Carmen Ellison and her husband, Steve and Billie Morgan and her husband Dick, all of Rock Port; grandchildren, Brandon Morgan and his wife, Cara, Beau Ross Morgan, Cassidy Scadden and her fiance, Nate Dunn, Ciera Nikki Ellison; great grandchildren, Mavryc Morgan, Mekhi and Melik Reed; sister, Ramona Baldwin; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Memorial Services: 2:00 pm, Monday, November 17, 2008 at Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port. The family will receive friends Monday, November 17th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at High Creek
Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Memorials may be directed to the Naomi Steele Memorial Fund.
Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
