Paul K. Bressler
1949 – 2018
Rock Port, Missouri
Paul K. Bressler, the son of Kenneth “Bud” and Evelyn (Cooper) Bressler, was born December 22, 1949, in Hamburg, Iowa. He passed away January 15, 2018, at his home in Rock Port, Missouri, at the age of 68. Paul was baptized, received his first communion and was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Rock Port. Paul attended Rock Port High School, graduating in 1967. He also attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in business.
Soon after, Paul was united in marriage to Patty Mensen. They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, for a short time before purchasing Paul’s great-grandmother’s farm in Rock Port. Paul and Patty later divorced.
Paul was briefly employed at the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Weigh Station on I-29 before beginning his life-long career of farming. For many years thereafter, Paul could be found working on his farm, as well as the family farm, alongside his father, Bud, and brother, Dwane.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nephews and niece, whom he loved like his own. He found it quite funny to offer them a bit of “dessert” out of his can of wintergreen skoal, though they never accepted. In his spare time, Paul also took pleasure in playing pool and socializing with his many friends. With his pool stick in hand, he could be known as a “shark” of sorts and few were up for that challenge.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by nephew, Christopher Merritt. Survivors include brother, Dwane Bressler and wife, Joni, Rock Port; nephew, Eric Bressler and wife, Rebecca, Maryville, Missouri; niece, LoryAnne Daugherty and husband, Michael, and their children, Drake, Ashlynn, Kinleigh and Cooper Daugherty, all of Rock Port.
