Peggy L. Eagans, the daughter of Vilas Reid and Dorothy Voncile (Tuggle) Howell, was born June 1, 1951, in Bethany, Missouri. She attended West Nodaway High School, graduating in 1969.

 

On July 8, 1971, Peggy was united in marriage to Harold Dean Eagans. They lived in southern California before returning to Rock Port, Missouri in 1984. Harold passed away on November 4, 2020.

 

In the early 1980’s, Peggy was employed by Tarkio and Rock Port nursing homes as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She retired in 2018.

 

Peggy enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and coloring. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Peggy passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at her home in Rock Port, at the age of 72.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Harold Dean, Peggy was preceded in death by siblings, Vilas Howell, Jr., Janette Diel, William and Virgil Howell, Benny, Bob, Gary, and Donald “Duck” Stanford. Survivors include siblings, Carma (Jim) Eagans, Rock Port, Jane (Don) Hardy, Tecumseh, Nebraska, Lisa DiRoma, Live Oak, Florida, Julie (Ron) Schalk, Melinda (Todd) Moyer, both of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Tracey (Denny) Fielder, Avoca, Iowa, Larry Stanford, Tarkio, Missouri, Jerry (Diane) Stanford, Kansas City, Missouri, Marsha Eagans, Richmond, Missouri, Terry Standford, Krista Louderback, both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Joe (Linda) Stanford, Tarkio; bonus mom, Mary Jane Howell, Nebraska City; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 21, 2023, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Open visitation begins 10:00 A.M., Sunday, August 20, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 P.M.

Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri.

Memorials: Three Rivers Hospice.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
