Phyllis Irene Culver, 93, went to our Lord, Friday, July 1, 2022 in Wilber, Nebraska.

The daughter of Harold and Marcella (Lyle) Hackett, Phyllis was born in Burlington Junction, Missouri on October 10, 1928. She attended Burlington Junction schools.

 

On July 5, 1945, Phyllis was united in marriage to Loren D. Culver, Jr. in Leavenworth, Kansas. They began farming in Clearmont and Burlington Junction, Missouri areas and also on the Missouri side of Blanchard, Iowa.  In 1994, Phyllis and Loren moved into Westboro, Missouri, but continued to have livestock until 1996. In September of 2007, they moved to Cameron Missouri. In 2008 Phyllis moved to Tarkio. In 2013, she moved to Crete, Nebraska where she lived for three years. In the spring of 2016 Phyllis became a resident of Wilber Care Center, Wilber, Nebraska.

 

Phyllis was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shenandoah, Iowa. Phyllis cared for her friends, family and others in need. She volunteered and was there to support her family and neighbors. She loved to garden, cook and make beautiful quilts. She loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Besides her parents and husband Loren, Phyllis was preceded in death by sister, Lauretta Hagey, two brothers, Robert L. Hackett and William H. Hackett, one grandson, Lee Eric Culver. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Bell and her husband, Richard, Valley, Nebraska, son, Larry Culver and his wife, Julie, Crete; six grandchildren, Tony Bell, Nicole League, Nicolas Bell, Ross Bell, Tara Culver and Jason Culver; 12 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; sister Linda Davenport, Burlington Junction. Honorable mention and special thank you to longtime neighbors Bob and Chintana Moss. We are sincerely grateful for your kindness through the years to Loren and Phyllis.

 

Funeral service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July, 6, 2022, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Interment: Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Jct., Missouri

Open visitation begins 9:00 AM Tuesday, Davis Funeral Home. There is no scheduled family visitation.
