Phyllis Jean Campfield, the daughter of Charles Herbert Parrish, Sr. and Alice Virginia (Glascock) Parrish, was born September 5, 1933, in Hannibal, Missouri. She attended high school in Hannibal Missouri.

 

On March 11, 1950, Phyllis was united in marriage to Edward Elvin Campfield in Hannibal. They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri and became the parents of seven sons, Edward, Jr., Charles, Mark, Michael, Kerry, Scott and Shawn. They later moved to Tarsney Lakes, Missouri before moving to Rock Port, Missouri. Edward passed away March 8, 2010.

 

Phyllis was a homemaker for most of her life, then worked as a Certified Medical Technician at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port. She loved church, her church family and all church activities. She enjoyed reading her Bible and crocheting.

 

Phyllis was a member of the Rock Port Baptist Church. Last year Phyllis moved to Elk City, Kansas, to be cared for by her son Chuck and his family. Phyllis passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the age of 83 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by infant son, Shawn E. Campfield, sons, Mark S. Campfield, Michael K. Campfield, Kerry G. Campfield and Scott W. Campfield, sister, Betty Lou Knollhoff and sister-in-law, Mildred Parrish. Survivors include sons, Edward E. Campfield, Jr., Charles E. Campfield, Sr. and wife, Deborah, Elk City, Kansas; daughter-in-law Nancy Campfield of Rock Port, Missouri, 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-granddaughter, sister, Helen V. Tapley, New London, Missouri, brother, Carl R. Parrish and wife, Carrie, Virginia.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 22, 2017, Rock Port Baptist Church
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation begins 1:00 P.M., Sunday, May 21, 2017, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.
