Phyllis H. Million, the daughter of Clyde and Lillie Mabel (Dinsmore) Hamilton was born February 12, 1928, in Hamburg, Iowa. She attended Hamburg High School, graduating in 1946.
On March 18, 1948, Phyllis was united in marriage to Byron Harmes Million at the United Methodist Church in Hamburg. They became the parents of two children, Michael and Ann. They made their home north of Rock Port, Missouri, on their family farm where she has resided to the present time.
Phyllis was employed for a short time in the Circuit Clerk and Recorders office at the Atchison County Courthouse in Rock Port. She was a devoted farmer’s wife who was actively engaged in the daily farm chores in addition to caring for her children. Phyllis was a dedicated member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the PEO Chapter DU, Rock Port, and a member of numerous Bridge Clubs. Byron passed away March 3, 2006. Phyllis passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 86.
Besides her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by sister, Bessie Bright and brother, Edwin Hamilton. Survivors include son, Michael Million and wife, Pamela, Oregon, Missouri; daughter, Ann Schwarm and husband, Gene, Loogootee, Illinois; five grandchildren, Michael Million, Bradley Million and wife, Misty, Blair Million, Alex Schwarm and wife, Samantha, and Andy Schwarm and wife, Monica; one great-grandchild, Monica Ann Million; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 18, 2014, United Methodist Church, Rock Port.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Friday, October 17, 2014, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
Memorials: PEO Scholarship Fund, Rock Port Nutrition Site or United Methodist Church, Rock Port.
