Raymond L. Comstock, the son of Leonard and Lucile (McMillan) Comstock, was born June 6, 1952, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1970.

On August 5, 1972, Raymond was united in marriage to Rita Martin at the Westboro United Methodist Church, Westboro, Missouri. They made their home in Rock Port, Missouri, and Tarkio and became the parents of two sons, Rob and Rich.

For over 20 years, Raymond worked as an auto body mechanic for Clark Ford and Pfeils Auto Body in Rock Port. Raymond was then employed for 20 years by Pella Corporation in Shenandoah, Iowa, retiring in 2014.

Raymond was an American patriot who loved his country. He was thankful for the freedoms we enjoy and for the men who fought for that freedom. Raymond loved nature, hunting, fishing, and watching the birds. He was a John Wayne fan and often watched westerns and movies of the old cowboys. He especially enjoyed cowboy poetry. Raymond was an avid blue grass and country music fan, going to a number of blue grass festivals. He was a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church and was a former member of the National Rifle Association. However, Raymond’s greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Raymond passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 64.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and four-legged friend, Duke. Survivors include wife, Rita Comstock, Tarkio; sons, Rob Comstock and wife, Nicky, Clearmont, Missouri, and Rich Comstock and wife, Melissa, Tarkio; six grandchildren, Kalandra, Kate, Robert, Eva, Xavier and Rylynn; one sister, Julia Pavel and husband, Gary, Montrose, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews; and four-legged friend, Rusty.

Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment: 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 3, 2016, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service, in the Tarkio Baptist Church fellowship hall.
