Robert S. “Bob” McAdams, Jr., the son of Robert Stanley, Sr. and Rosanna (Sattler) McAdams, was born February 24, 1947, in Oberlin, Kansas. He attended numerous schools in the Atchison and Holt County area and Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1965.

On April 10, 1966, Bob entered the United States Army and served his country overseas in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged April 10, 1968.

On May 31, 1969, Bob was united in marriage to Shirley Simpson at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tarkio. They made their home in Tarkio their entire married life and became the parents of three children, Craig, Curtis and Aaron.

Bob truly was a “jack of all trades” who could work on anything. He worked alongside his father in McAdams Heating and Plumbing in Tarkio and Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah, Iowa. In 1984, Bob suffered from a disabling kidney disease resulting in a kidney transplant. At that time, his doctor’s hoped he would receive five more years of life. Bob and his family were very blessed to have been given 30 more years together. Bob passed away, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Bryan LGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 67.

Bob was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post # 199, Tarkio. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Shirley, Tarkio; three sons, Robert Craig McAdams and wife, Melissa, Tarkio, Russell Curtis McAdams and wife, Megan, Maryville, Missouri, and Aaron Christopher McAdams and wife, Chelsey, Shenandoah, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jade, Gage, Sloane, Sutton, Kaylee and Hayden; siblings, Jeanie Jobes and Kenny McAdams, both of Tarkio, John McAdams and wife, Jill, Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service:
10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
A cremation will be completed following the funeral service. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Monday, February 16, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
