Roberta Faye Hines, the daughter of Charles Washie and Helen Louise (Batson) Hines, was born February 6, 1948, in Hamburg, Iowa. She attended school in Nishnabotna, Missouri, and Rock Port, Missouri.
In the late 1960’s, Faye was united in marriage to Harry Shaw. They became the parents of two children, Louis and Brenda. They later divorced.
Faye worked at the sheltered workshop in Rock Port until ill-health forced her retirement.
Faye loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors and mowing the yard, socializing, working puzzles, and playing cards and bingo. Faye passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 71.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by brothers, Charlie and Ronald Hines, sisters, Susie Shaw, Iva Fern and Phyllis Ann Hines, and sister-in-law, Sharon Hines. Survivors include son, Louis Shaw and wife, Naomi, Fairfax, Missouri; daughter, Brenda Harber, Tarkio; six grandchildren, Terri Jo, Katie, Kelsie, Tabitha, Dylan and Brandon; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Junior Hines and wife, Barbara, Billy Hines, all of Tarkio, and LeRoy “Butch” Hines and wife, Alice, Schuyler, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2019, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio
Open visitation begins 12:00 P.M., Noon, Monday, Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.
