Roberta Maxine Bargman
December 15, 1916 - March 8, 2007
Roberta Maxine Bargman, the daughter of George Washington and Lesta (Boyer) Dunkle was born December 15, 1916 in rural Arcadia, Nebraska. She attended country school in the Milton community south of Fairfax, Missouri.
Maxine was united in marriage on June 30, 1937, to Robert Uttvits Bargman by Rev. E. E. Basye at the United Methodist Church Parsonage, Westboro, Missouri. They made their home, reared their two children and farmed in the Westboro Community. The family always had a large garden with flowers and vegetables. Maxine was a homemaker for the majority of their married life, but for 17 years, after her children were raised, she was also employed as a nurse’s aid at Community Hospital. Maxine passed away Thursday, March 08, 2007 at the Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Maxine was an accomplished, self taught, piano player who could play just about any song she heard by ear or by reading music. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include one daughter, Roberta Anderson, Omaha, Nebraska, one son Bill Bargman and his wife Carol, Lee’s Summit; grandchildren, Roger Goodman, Westboro, Nanette Williams and husband Jack, Omaha, Scott Bargman and wife Julia, Smithville, Missouri, Tracy Battmer and husband, Kent, Kansas City, Missouri and Tricia Bargman, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Quinn Goodman, Tyler Williams, Zach and Troy Bargman, and Emily and Amanda Battmer; one sister Lucile Winstead, Overland Park, Kansas, and one brother-in-law, Dr. Glenn Bargman and wife Carmean, now living in Arizona.
Besides her parents and husband Robert, she was preceded in death by one grandson Mark Bargman and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services: 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2007, Davis Funeral Chapel, Tarkio
Burial: Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri
