ROBERTA NELLE KNIZLEY

Roberta was born February 11, 1914 to William and Nellie Amanda Guyette at Burlington Junction, Missouri. Her early years were spent in Tarkio, Missouri where she attended school and helped out in her father’s feed store. On January 21, 1933 she married Ernest Harold Obert and they became the parents of James Harold and Roberta Jean Obert. Ernie was called to war in 1943 and was killed in action February 8, 1945.

On September 30, 1949, Roberta married Cayrol L. Knizley. After he retired they enjoyed many years together in their recreational vehicle. Both loved to play cards and this life style suited them perfectly. They could pull into a campground, go to the recreation hall and find either a bridge or a cribbage game.

Cayrol died in 2005 after 55 years of marriage. Roberta’s son, James Harold (Jim) preceded her in death in 2002. She went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2008.

Roberta is survived by her daughter Roberta Jean Kimbriel and her husband Bill, her granddaughter Kathy L. Kimbriel and her husband Raymond Tatum, her granddaughter Roberta Anna Isbell and her husband Gordon, and by her grandson Ernest Harold Obert and his wife Geni . There are numerous great-grandchildren in the Obert and Knizley clans.
