R. Mark Luhrs, son of Harold Eugene and Virginia Rose (Sloey) Luhrs was born January 23, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri. Mark graduated from Rock Port High School in 1959 and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Mark was a Rock Port business owner and an executive with the Boy Scouts of America (Japan). He was a historian and loved movies and to read. Mark passed away Tuesday November 4, 2008 at the age of 67 years.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sisters, Nancy Wanamaker and Peggy Petry; brother-in-law Dr. Don Petry; nephews, Kent Wanamaker and Clay Petry; nieces, Brooke Von Bon, Jill Luedtke, and Heather Petry.

Memorial Services:
11:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2008,
First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.
A private family inurnment will be held immediately following the service at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Atchison County Library, Rock Port Branch.
