Ronald S. McMahon
1955-2014
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Ronald S. (Ronnie) McMahon, the son of Gerald Stephen and Lois Lorraine (Anderson) McMahon, was born January 14, 1955, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Moreland and Otho, Iowa, schools. Ronnie moved to Rock Port, Missouri, when he was a sixth grader and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1973.

 

On April 2, 1977, Ronnie was united in marriage to Marilyn Perry at the Rock Port United Methodist Church. They became the parents of two children, Kari Beth and Lori. They made their home in Rock Port their entire married life.

 

Ronnie was employed by Atchison County Coop, Missouri Beef Packers and as a sports writer for Atchison County Mail. He was also employed by Atchison Holt Electric until his declining health forced his retirement.

 

Ronnie was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. Ronnie passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Rock Port at the age of 59.

 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Mike McMahon. Survivors include wife, Marilyn, Rock Port; daughters, Kari Beth Amthor, and husband, Wyatt, and Lori Sybert, and husband, Jade, all of Rock Port; three grandchildren, Carsyn Sybert and Westyn and Talyn Amthor; parents, Jerry and Lois McMahon, Rock Port; siblings, Cathy Roup, and husband, Jim, Rock Port, Danny McMahon, and wife, Barb, Webster City, Iowa, Elaine Lewis, Doug McMahon, Mark McMahon, and wife, Marcy, all of Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 1, 2014, First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.
Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Friday, February 28, 2014, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
