Ronnie E. Sutter, the son of Evan Leonard and Matie Viola (Gebhards) Sutter, was born October 8, 1937, in Langdon, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1955.
On November 4, 1956, Ronnie was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Smith at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Langdon. They became the parents of three children, Jerry, Debbie and Kevin. They made their home east of Rock Port until 1966, when they moved to their current home, north of Rock Port.
Ronnie was a true farmer. He enjoyed working the dirt and harvesting his crops. Throughout the years, he raised hogs, cows, chickens and sheep. Ronnie also drove a truck, hauling cattle, fuel and other agricultural products for area trucking companies.
Ronnie was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Rock Port. He enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, boating in the Ozarks, woodworking and watching his family race stock cars. Ronnie passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at his home in Rock Port at the age of 80.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by son, Jerry Sutter.
Survivors include wife, Phyllis Sutter, Rock Port; daughter, Debbie True, Rock Port; son, Kevin Sutter and wife, Shelli, Westboro, Missouri; grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Olson, Jason (Tina) Sutter, Holly (Jeremy) Huntley, Josh (Kasey) True, T.J. (Stephanie) True, Alyssa (Cameron) Sullivan, and Ryan (Lea’) Sutter; great-grandchildren, Reid, Cayden, Brydon, Tayleigh, Tyler, Jack, Zane, Wyatt, Karsyn, Harper, Kortlyn and Bristol; brother, Herbert Darrell (Anita) Sutter, Fairfax, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; good friend, Marvin Herron, Rock Port; and Ronnie’s black lab, Lady.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2018, First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Friday, Minter Funeral Chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
