Rosalee Reta Flanagan, the daughter of Lee Alva and Rosa (Robinson) Slemp, was born November 5, 1930, near Rock Port, Missouri. Her early schooling was at Valley View Country School south of Rock Port.
On March 10, 1952, she married Harold Ottmann and they spent their married life farming south of Rock Port. In 1970, she became a co-owner of D & R Fabric in Rock Port. During this time, she tailored many beautiful garments for her customers and enjoyed sewing for many years. She was widowed at 40 when Harold passed away as a result of a tractor accident near Langdon on August 25, 1970. She married Maurice Flanagan in Rock Port on July 12, 1972, and they spent the majority of their married life in New Mexico until they retired in 1994 and made their home in Rock Port. Maurice passed away July 2, 2009.
Rosalee enjoyed sewing and gardening throughout her life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of the Ralph Greer Post # 49, Rock Port. Rosalee passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at her home in Rock Port at the age of 83.
Rosalee is preceded in death by her parents; spouses; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and James Hudson; and brother and sister-in-law, Alva and Erika Slemp. Survivors include step-children, Steve Flanagan, Gregg Flanagan and Kelly Welles; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and LoAnn Slemp, Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, Joan Zimmerman, Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Elaine (John) Eilers and Jim Hudson, all of Rock Port, Dave Slemp, Calistoga, California, Larry (Mary) Slemp and Steve Slemp, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Julie (Dan) Goin, Weatherford, Texas, and Carolyn (Jim) Johnson, Houston, Texas; eleven great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews.
There are no memorial services or visitation.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
