Rosie Amelia Olson, the daughter of Carl Christian and Katherine (Herrman) Olson, was born February 21, 1909 in Watson, Missouri.
She attended Pleasant Valley Country School near Watson.

Rosie served as a midwife for a number of years. She lived with Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Garst and helped raise their children.. In later years, Rosie took care of her mother until her passing in January of 1980.

Rosie resided at her home on Rainbow Drive until 2005, when ill health required her moving to Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port. She passed away at Pleasant View on July 30, 2008 at the age of 99 years.

She was a former member of the Watson Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the Rock Port Church of Christ. Rosie was also a past member of the Atchison County Extension Club.

Besides her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by sisters Marie Underwood and Dorothy Brought; brothers Robert Olson, Raymond Olson, Lester Olsen, Gilbert Olson and Harlen Olson; niece Sherry Pfeil; nephew Donald Kerr; sisters-in-law Irene Olson and Patty Olson; and brother-in-law Irvin Brought.

Rosie is survived by her brother Leo Olson, Rock Port; special friend Mike Burke, Maryville, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Marie Olson, Papillion, Nebraska, Roberta Olsen, Coin, Iowa and Maybelle Olson, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Services: Saturday, August 2, 2008,
10:30 am, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Linden Cemetery, Rock Port.
Memorials: Grace Community Church, Rock Port.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call any time after 9:00 am on Friday, August 1, 2008.
