Ruth E. (Sieben) Irvine, the daughter of William C. and Esther C. (Young) Sieben was born February 5, 1922 in Michigan City, Indiana. She graduated from high school in Michigan City in 1940 and worked for a short time as a secretary.

 

On October 23, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to Richard Stanley Irvine in Liberal, Kansas. While Stan was serving during World War II, Ruth lived in Liberal and Michigan City. After the war, they made their home on the Irvine family farm, east of Tarkio, Missouri. Ruth was a stay at home mom, raising and caring for their two daughters, Susan and Patty. Ruth and Stan later moved into Tarkio, until retiring in 1986, at which time they moved to Sun City West, Arizona. Since 2006, they have made their home at Living Community of Saint Joseph, Missouri. Ruth passed away August 26, 2011 at her home at the age of 89.

 

Ruth was a long standing former member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church, and the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Sun City, Arizona. While in Tarkio, Ruth was also a member of the New Book Club and the Bridge Club.

 

Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Maurice Irvine, and sister-in-law, Virginia Irvine. Survivors include her husband, Stan Irvine, of Saint Joseph; two daughters, Susan Richard and husband Gary, Folsom, California and Patty Davis and husband Sheldon, Fairfax, Missouri; two grandchildren, Derek Davis and wife, Dawn and Courtney Graves and husband, Jarod, all of Fairfax; two great-grandchildren, Amber Lewis, Columbia, Missouri, and Baylee Lewis, Fairfax; sister-in-law, Margaret Irvine, Tarkio; nephews, Steve Irvine and wife, Eileen, and Larry Irvine and special friend, Jeannine Broermann, all of Tarkio.

 

Services: 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 29, 2011, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:50 A.M., Monday, prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home.
