Sandra Kay (Ellison) Lawson, the daughter of Harold Maroni and Louise Marie (Coleman) Ellison, was born on May 15, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs. Sandra was employed at Blue Star Foods and Rudy’s Drive-In in Council Bluffs.

 

In 1966, Sandra was united in marriage to Bill B. Lawson and they became the parents of five children. They were later divorced. In 1981,Sandra and her children moved to Craig, Missouri, and later Mound City, Missouri. To live close to her son Mark, she moved to Gardner, Kansas. In 1998, she moved to Rock Port, to live close to Troy, where she lived to the present time. Sandra passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Heartland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri at the age of 63 years.

 

Sandra was a member of the Christian Church in Rock Port. She enjoyed crocheting and loved cats.

 

Besides her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Duane Lawson and two sisters, Barbara and Margie. Survivors include three sons, Mark Lawson and his wife, Tina, Gardner, Kansas, Mike Lawson, Missouri and Troy Lawson, Rock Port; one daughter, Kelly Lawson, St. Joseph; nine grandchildren, Talaina, Ashley, Crystal, Goldie, James, Abbie, Danielle, Jordan and Trais; one brother, Bud; five sisters, Sharon, Betty, Peggy, Marie and Vickie; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Services: 1:30 pm, Monday, October 27, 2008, Christian Church, Rock Port. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm prior to the service in the church basement.
The body will be cremated immediately following the service and a private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
