Sharron Glee (Pitner) Brown, the daughter of Darrell and Delouise (Lewis) Pitner was born on June 6, 1942 at home in Westboro, Missouri. Sharron graduated from Westboro High School in 1960 and later attended Caster’s Beauty School, St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in 1961.

On June 4, 1961, Sharron was united in marriage to Ronnie Brown and they made their home in Tarkio, Missouri. They had one daughter, Lori. For five years, Sharron was a beautician for Bess Schoonover at Schoonover Beauty Shop, in Tarkio.  She then was employed at Broughton Food Services at Tarkio College until she and Ronnie owned and operated The Downtowner Tavern in Tarkio for ten years. In 1980, Sharron began working at the Walnut Inn in Tarkio for Bob McCoy and then managed the business for Jean Enos until 1985. Later that same year, she began managing the Rock Port Golf and Country Club until her first bout with cancer forced her retirement in 1996. Although retired, Sharron always stayed busy. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing her talent with her family and friends. She absolutely adored and had a very special bond with her grandchildren, Veronica and Dalton as well as her great-grandchildren, Rush and Baylin, who all lovingly referred to her as “Granny”. Sharron loved taking care of her family and friends and was a genuine, caring, compassionate, positive woman. She epitomized the qualities of strength and grace. Throughout Sharron’s lifetime, she made many lifelong friends that were very dear to her. She never met a stranger and given the chance, she would talk your ear off. She had a personality that was easy to fall in love with. She not only had an incredible sense of humor but also a heart of gold. Sharron passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 with her loving family by her side in Tarkio, at the age of 77.

Sharron was a member of the Westboro United Methodist Church, and the First Baptist Church of Tarkio, she also attended the Sharp’s Grove United Methodist Church, Craig, Missouri. She was a member of County Extension Club and had been a very active member of Eastern Star for over 25 years holding various offices in Skidmore and Fairfax Eastern Star Chapters. She had been Worthy Matron over five times and was District Deputy Grand Matron in 2006-2007. Most recently, she was a member of the Rosanna Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #262, Maryville, Missouri, due to consolidation of chapters.
