Sherrey Lyne Moses was born on October 10, 1955, to Arthur G. and Mary E. Harbison of rural Tarkio, MO. Sherrey was the third child and third daughter born to the family. The family lived on the Floyd Hannah farm where her father worked for many years.

Sherrey attended the Tarkio schools until her senior year when the family moved to Burlington Jct., MO. Sherrey graduated from Burlington Jct. in 1974. She attended Northwest Missouri State for a year where she earned a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate.
