Stanley Richard Mertz, the son of Harold and Myrle (Stanley) Mertz was born March 2, 1937, in King City, Missouri. Stanley was an accountant with the federal government and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stan passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois, at the age of 76 years.

 

Beside his parents Stan was preceded in death by daughter, Kerry D. Noellsch Heilman and grandchild, Taylor Heilman. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca J. (Hoffrogge) Mertz; children, Michael S. (Michele) Mertz of McKinney, Texas, Richard K. (Caroline) Truelove of Wentzville, Missouri, Douglas S. (Lisa) Mertz of Owasso, Oklahoma, Stephanie L. (Troy) Fisher of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Kelly L. (David) Trampe of Troy, Illinois; son-in-law, Shawn Heilman of Troy; grandchildren, Chase and Kara Hubbard, Sarah, Alex and Cody Fisher, Justin Altenberger, Devyn and Drake Trampe, Trent and Travis Heilman, Kaitlyn (Freddy) Kuykendall, Cordell, Kaleb and Stuart Mertz and Joshua Gunn; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Hunter and Kolten Altenberger and John Mertz; and sisters, Judy (Verl) Flack, Lincoln, Nebraska and Mary Ann Mertz of Kearney, Nebraska.

 

Funeral Service:
11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 22, 2013, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri
Interment: Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2013, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.
