**CASUAL ATTIRE PREFERRED**

Steven “Cash” Herron, the son of WH and Lois (Cooper) Herron, was born March 29, 1949 in Hamburg, Iowa. In 1964, Cash started his farming operation, renting his first farm at the age of 15. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1967.

On November 26, 1983, Cash was united in marriage to Carol Yates at First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. They became the parents of four sons, Reno, Rebel, Reven, and Redge and made their home in the Rock Port area their entire married life.

Farming was all Cash ever knew. He worked hard and was blessed when he had Rebel to eventually help him in his operation. Rebel regularly heard, “we will give them an old school application” and “this is the way we have done things for 50 years”, and he knew there would be no changes. They all knew there were only three people he ever listened to, mom, dad and Big Girl. Cash was a friend for many and helped many, many, through-the years- you could always count on Cash. He was a tremendous family man- they were number one!

Cash also enjoyed having fun. He always had a story, sometimes extended, and loved to make people laugh. Cash loved the Rock Port Blue Jays and supported them faithfully for over 50 years. He especially loved 11 man football. He played men’s slow pitch softball, he drove faster than fast, and scared many a passenger. He also enjoyed driving his semi, drinking coffee with friends and cruising on his Harley with Big Girl.

Cash was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port and former council member. Cash loved and spent his entire life in the Rock Port Community. He never met a stranger. Cash enjoyed coaching youth flag football and baseball for his boys. After the boys were gone, he especially enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events, he went to every one of their functions until he was no longer able. Cash passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his home in Rock Port, at the age of 73.

Besides his parents, Cash was preceded in death by son, Reno Herron; infant brother Daniel Paul Herron and brother-in-law, Allen Yates. Survivors include wife, Carol Herron, Rock Port; daughter-in-law, Melanie Herron, Lake Jackson, Texas, sons, Rebel (Trudy) Herron, Fairfax, Missouri, Reven and Redge Herron, both of Rock Port; grandchildren, Sean Quimby, Blair Broermann, Ryder, Presley, Reese, and Ray Herron; sister, Peggy (Gary) Smith, Mondamin, Iowa; father and mother-in-law, Clarence Yates, Sr. and Margaret Jones; brother-in-law, Clarence Jr. (Lisa) Yates, sisters-in-law, Nancy (Robert) Storant and Susan (Jerry) Smith; honorary sisters-in-law, Cindy (Matt) Kreifels and Jackie Williams; numerous cousins and many many friends.
