Sue Ellen Meier, the daughter of Clifford Eugene and Elaine Louise (Steele) Meier, was born August 28, 1957 in Fairfax, Missouri. She grew up on a farm outside of Westboro, Missouri. Sue attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1975. Sue attended Platte Gard Business School, St. Joseph, Missouri, earning her secretarial degree in 1976.

Sue was employed at Tarkio Auto Parts, Tarkio, and Henry Fields as a payroll clerk. She then was employed for Division of Family Support where she served as a clerk typist and family support eligibility case worker, retiring in 2015.

Sue was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Daisy. Sue passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Garden View Nursing Home, Shenandoah, Iowa, at the age of 65.

Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by sister, Sheree Lynn (Meier) Shaw and niece, Jodi Lynn Meier. Survivors include brother, Steven (Shari) Meier, Essex, Iowa; brother-in-law, Tim Shaw, Tarkio; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends at Garden View Nursing Home.

Graveside Service and Interment: 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 9, 2023, Essex Cemetery, Essex, Iowa.

There is no scheduled visitation.
